Kilmurry Historical & Archaeological Association have undertaken an ambitious project to build a new museum and cultural facility in the heart of Kilmurry village. The new premises will have a state of the art museum and audio visual space and also a meeting space with seating for 80 people.
The association is keenly aware of the need for a community meeting space in Kilmurry and we firmly believe that the new facility will be enjoyed by people not just from Kilmurry village but also from the wider community. This project is being driven with the knowledge that it will benefit all local communities in the lee valley who wish to promote the history and heritage of their area and also to have a meeting room available to groups who wish to promote their own particular ambitions.
After a lot of hard work we have secured part funding of €410,000 for the new project. We will also need to raise up to €150,000 of matching funding and this will be an ongoing exercise.
We are always looking for ambitious people who share a love of their community and a love for their heritage. Contact us through the contact page and get involved in this very exciting time in the community.
